Each term, spring, summer, and fall, IBC looks for two to three bright, self-motivated students from around the country for our internship program. The internship is not rigidly structured, so we are looking for students who are able to work in a flexible environment with minimum supervision and have a clear idea of what they expect to accomplish before coming to Washington.
Intern responsibilities vary, but include attending and summarizing congressional hearings and press conferences, providing research for counsellors and clients, composing articles for our trade publication, and monitoring political and trade developments in various regions and issues. Clerical work is minimal, though it may occasionally be required.
