Washington Export Information, Licensing Service® (WEILS)

IBC has been assisting companies in complying with U.S. export control laws and regulations for almost 40 years. IBC’s services are directed at assisting companies manage and remain compliant with U.S. export control regulations. IBC assists both small and large exporters navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly changing regulatory environment. Through WEILS®, IBC's staff works with exporters to provide the following services:

EXPORT INFORMATION
  • Updates on export and import restrictions for selected countries*

  • Advance reports on changes in U.S. export control laws and policies

  • Monitoring and reporting on export control reform initiatives

  • Coordination of and participation in meetings with U.S. Government decision-makers in Washington, DC who are directly involved with international trade and export control issues

  • Monitoring, advice and strategic assistance on key legislation affecting international trade for a specific product or sector

  • Alerts on sanctions and economic embargo policies and changes
COMPLIANCE
  • Preparation of compliance materials

  • Training

  • Internal audits of export compliance management

  • Compliance with visa petitions for foreign nationals (I-129 Certification Regarding the Release of Controlled Tech)
LICENSING
  • Interpretation of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Transactions Regulations
  • Assistance in determining whether a commodity, product, technology, or foreign national employee requires an export license
  • Guidance in license application preparation and submission to relevant U.S. government agencies
COUNTRY CHART
  • IBC monitors daily developments in U.S. government export restrictions and policy. To keep our clients up to date on these important changes, IBC maintains the Country Chart of Export Restrictions. The chart identifies countries that are subject to specific trade restrictions set forth by the U.S. Departments of Commerce, State and Treasury and summarizes the applicable restrictions.
